Grand Daddy Purple From The Green Ace – 8.25/10

  • sour and earthy
  • gassy/greasy
  • has a floral pollen – almost honey type scent
  • seems to have a bit of the kush nasal pinch
  • getting a dusty plasticky skunk smell when broken open

  • fluffier buds could use a better trim but still more than acceptable
  • little bit dryer but has some springback when squeezed
  • nice mixed greens colour with a small amount of harder to see mauve -almost purple- spots on some of the buds and relatively high contrasting reddish/brown stigmas
  • hints of previous stickiness

  • Smoking Papel de Liar Maiz 1-1/4 wide paper with smaller filter tip used
  • busted up mostly on the finer side with a few chunks mixed throughout
  • average bud stick in the grinder
  • well above average on the kief yield
  • rolled super easily – thought it might be a bit too powdery to roll but very surprised
  • ash is very light -nearly white- and has a super soft texture

  • gassy and berries/fruit
  • there’s a skunkiness about it
  • somewhat of a kush type flavour
  • kind of woody – pine/cedar
  • overall a fairly clean taste but can get a little throat tickly on deeper puffs

  • starts to hit only about 1/4 of the way in
  • feels pretty spacey and forgetful
  • somewhat physically uncoordinated
  • head is foggy
  • bit of a chesty feeling
  • decent pain relief
  • lasts about 2hrs or so – get a bit sleepy around 1.5hr mark

If you’re looking for a heavy body high and a powerful knock-me-out plan, then this entirely indica strain is your best choice. Granddaddy Purple emits a sweet berry smell that leaves a grape aftertaste at the back of your throat. It is an offspring of two indica strains, Purple Urkle and Big Bud, and was first created in 2003 by Ken Estes. The plant has deep, dark purple buds covered with loud orange hairs and forest of white trichomes.

Grandaddy Purple has an average THC level of 17% and induces an extremely relaxing body high. It has potent sedative effects and produces a massive body melt. This is why the strain is more suitable for evening use, at the end of a long, hard day. Its hallmarks are an intense cerebral high and deep body relaxation. It is useful for treating medical conditions like loss of appetite, insomnia, pain, stress and muscle spasms.
